IF IT AINT BROKEN WHY FIX IT ..
So here are the details we have ..
Location : Crickhowell Wales .. North of Newport in the Brecon Beacon National park
Date : 25th / 26th July .. not definate but probable..
So after 100nxc 08 we decided to give this another go, this is just a meet for NXrs new and old to catch up, meet up and just have a bit of fun
you know I could keep on going .. but Chris said it all so well last year .. why change it ..
Distances; from the Severn Bridge; 34 miles, Bristol, 46 miles; Birmingham via M5, M50, A40; 90 miles; Central London via M4, Severn Bridge, etc.; 160 miles. Pembroke Dock, 100 miles. Manchester, 173 miles (160 of them motorway/dual carriageway!)
Take a look for yourselves. From http://uk.msn.com/ go to maps at the top of the page. Look for Crickhowell, it will try to find businesses first but select locations. Use the aerial setting and zoom in. The site is just to the south of the town, you can see the caravans and tents if you look closely. Go to Google and look for Crickhowell or Llangattock websites too. A fabulous area for a Meet. Use AutoRoute if you have it or see what your Sat Nav can tell you!
The site is brilliant. A permanent campsite on a farm, easy access road, pub within 200 metres. The small town of Crickhowell is less than a mile away, chippie and basic shops there. Abergavenny is about 7 miles away with supermarkets and takeaways by the score. We should have a separate field to ourselves. The toilet block was refurbished a year or so back, free hot water and showers. I've used this site dozens of times over the years. For those who prefer not to camp there should be plenty of B & Bs around the area.
There's talk of a treasure hunt in the Welsh Hills. We will provide activities for the energetic but I suspect most will just settle on a quiet weekend with friends, old and new. Some of us plan to arrive on Thursday and some may stay on for a few days more after the weekend. The campsite has a simple charge system; you pay a basic site charge per person per night. Stay on another night; pay another night's camping fee. Take a few days off work and stay longer if you wish. Last year the campsite fee was £5 per person per night.
We hope to have a comemorative badge for the event too. No NXer can afford to miss this event!
Let's make this the greatest gathering of NXs ever seen in the British Isles!
and yes the site was superb, safe and even for an Irish family that decided to take the alternative route to get there at 1am .. not that hard to find..
so if you are thinking of arriving down why not come for the weekend
and if you are in contact with nxrs from the past send them a mail and see if they can make it along..
all are welcome apart .. now is the time to book that extended weekend we all deserve..
With Jae now being pushed out to Sept, it will make a nice break in the summer months..
so heres my name on the listing ..
1: Eoin Ree and boys ..
